Hey lovely humans
I was chatting with my friend Ewa the other day and she hit me with one of those questions that makes your brain do a little somersault, she said, “What even is spirituality?” and honestly... erm, where do we even start? Who knows? Is it different for everyone? Probably. Definitely. Let’s unpack it. get honest for a sec. The word spirituality gets thrown around a lot. And if you’re anything like me, you might’ve spent some time thinking, “Am I even doing it right?” (Spoiler: there’s no right.)
So here’s the dictionary definition, because we love a little clarity: Spirituality (noun): “The quality of being concerned with the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things.”
Sounds pretty simple, right?
But somewhere along the line, it got tangled up with rules. Like you had to wear white linen and say “namaste” to be considered “spiritual.” Like you needed a Himalayan salt lamp in every room or a daily sage cleanse. (No shade if you do — I’ve got both. But also? You can be spiritual in your jeans and a crop top with your third coffee of the day.)
To me, spirituality is about coming home to yourself. It’s not about escaping life, it’s about meeting it.Fully. Messily. Honestly. It’s about getting curious about who you are under all the noise.
And yeah, sometimes that’s hard. Sometimes I avoid it. I scroll, I clean, I distract, I pretend I don’t hear that little inner nudge that says, “Hey… slow down. Look inwards.”
But eventually, I always come back. To the quiet. To the sound of a breath. To the space between doing and being. And in that space? I remember I’m already enough.
So no, you don’t need crystals to be spiritual (but they’re fun). You don’t need to meditate for an hour a day (unless you want to).You just need to listen. To yourself. To your heart. And let that be enough.
And if you’re craving a space to do that, to be curious, a bit woo, a bit wobbly, a bit wild - come join me in The Everyday Sanctuary.
It’s not fancy. It’s not performative. It’s just a soft landing Facebook group for people who want more real in their life.
A space for deep chats, little rituals, honest moments, and unapologetic presence. We’ll laugh, cry, probably swear a little, and hold space for the parts of ourselves we’re still learning to love.
Come as you are. Messy hair, loud laugh, deep thinker, big feeler, all of you is welcome here.
Let’s make this sanctuary something beautiful, together.
