
You’ve probably heard people mention “chakras” before - maybe in yoga, meditation, or while getting your crystals on. But what are they, really?
Chakras are energy centres in the body. There are seven main ones, running from the base of your spine all the way up to the crown of your head. Each one links to a different part of our physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. When they’re balanced, life tends to flow better. You feel more grounded, creative, confident, loving, expressive, intuitive, and connected.
When they’re out of whack? Well… things can feel a little off. Maybe you’re tired for no reason, stuck in your head, not speaking up, or just feeling meh. That’s your energy trying to tell you something.
So why do I talk about chakras? Because they give us a super simple way to check in with ourselves. It’s not about being “spiritually perfect” it’s about gently noticing where we’re off, and finding ways to realign. And one of my favourite ways to do that is through sound.
I use crystal singing bowls in my sound baths, and each one is tuned to a specific note that resonates with a chakra. Sound is vibration and that vibration helps shift stagnant energy and bring your body back into balance. It’s like an energetic reset, without having to do anything at all.
When you’re lying down, eyes closed, just soaking in the sounds... your energy body is doing the work for you. No pressure. No expectation. Just receiving.

So yeah - chakras aren’t just some woo-woo concept. They’re a beautiful and simple way to check in with your energy, and sound healing is one of the gentlest ways I know to bring things back into alignment.
