Hey there, lovely souls I am coming at you with a bit of a different vibe today. 🌿✨

I'm nestled in our cozy caravan with George, Netflix humming softly in the background, and a steaming cup of decaf coffee warming my hands. Rob's out for the day with Liam, and here I am, tapping away at my laptop. Typical me, right?

But here's the thing – I've been wrestling with this nagging feeling. You know, that voice in your head that says, "Shouldn't you be out there, walking, doing something more... productive?" It's like my brain's on autopilot, always pushing for more, more, more.

The Struggle is Real

I'll be honest, I'm finding it hard to shake off this feeling that I should be elsewhere, doing something else. It's as if relaxation is this foreign concept my body's forgotten how to process.

But wait a minute...🤔

Plot Twist: What If This IS Relaxation?

Here's a wild thought – what if this is what relaxation feels like for me? What if catching up on work stuff, in my own time, in my comfy space, is my version of chilling out?

I mean, think about it. I'm:

  • In a peaceful environment ✅

  • Doing something I enjoy (because let's face it, I think I just like working) ✅

  • Feeling no external pressure ✅

  • Actually feeling pretty good about it all ✅

The Permission Slip You Didn't Know You Needed

So, here's what I'm thinking, and maybe you need to hear this too:

It's okay to relax in your own way.

There's no one-size-fits-all when it comes to unwinding. If your version of relaxation involves a bit of work, a dash of productivity, or anything that others might not consider "traditional" relaxation – that's perfectly fine!

Finding Your Zen

The key is to tune into how you feel. Right now, despite my initial doubts, I realise I'm feeling pretty relaxed. And you know what? I'm going to embrace it. I'm going to sit here, enjoy this weird (but wonderful) relaxed feeling, and continue catching up with my work stuff at my own pace.

A Little Reminder

To all my lovely friends out there, remember:

  1. Your relaxation doesn't have to look like anyone else's.

  2. Listen to your body and mind – they know what you need.

  3. It's okay to enjoy work or be productive during your downtime if that's what makes you feel good.

  4. Give yourself permission to relax, whatever that means for you.

So, here's to finding peace in the unexpected places, to embracing our unique ways of recharging, and to being kind to ourselves in the process.

I hope you're all having a lovely weekend, whatever that looks like for you. And thanks for letting me share this little epiphany with you. Sometimes, just getting it off your chest can make all the difference.

Sending waves of calm and self-acceptance your way! 🌊💖

Remember, you're doing just fine, exactly as you are.

Love Lisa Jo
